"Welcome to Citywide: Community Transport Wolverhampton"

Citywide originated within Community Transport, a National Charity that provides a wide variety of services to socially excluded individuals and groups. CT Wolverhampton has demonstrated how the charity can meet the need for safe, affordable transport for registered groups and individuals, as well as providing recycled furniture for low income families and individuals. 2005 saw the Wolverhampton project make huge steps forward as a project with firm foundations for the future, based on rapid growth of passenger operations in addition to the furniture service.

In August 2004 we launched Citywide, a 3-year £0.7m Urban Bus Challenge (UBN) project to provide transport for young people in Wolverhampton to access nursery care and playgroups, education, recreational and vocational training. The scheme operates 364 days a year and 18 hours a day. The higher profile which the project gained for CT Wolverhampton was demonstrated by the excellent launch of Citywide at the Molineux Football Stadium in September 2004.

In addition, Community Transport Wolverhampton is now pioneering work for the LEA (Life Long Learning Department, Wolverhampton) through the Pathfinder programme to provide transport support for new curriculum arrangements for older children with, again, consequent links in terms of all year round support to disadvantaged and vulnerable young people.
